Friday Night Lights
A few weekends ago, we made the trip to Birmingham to visit with Lee's sister's family. My brother-in-law is the head football coach at Clay-Chalkville high school, so we drove over in time on Friday to catch the game. I have seen my brother-in-law coach at other schools, but this school really reminded me alot of my high school growing up and I really enjoyed watching the game. The girls were in heaven. Their cousins and their Aunt Amanda completely doted on them through-out the game.

I should mention that the Cougars, Uncle's Jerry's team, are doing very well this year. They are ranked in like the top 40 in the entire Country or something crazy like that. They went undefeated last year and will hopefully make it very far in Alabama 6A football this year. Good luck Cougars!

Arranged
This fall, I signed up for a flower arranging class offered on Sunday nights at our church. It is led by Mrs. Joy Beers who is so talented in this area. She helps with lots of weddings and special events around town and handles all of the flowers for our church. I signed up mainly as a way to get to know some of the ladies in my church. I know all of the ones with children close in age to my girls but some of the older ladies I did not know very well. It has been so much fun meeting new friends and getting to know these ladies better. We have all laughed together, poked fun at one another and have just had plain fun. Here are some pics from our class:

Tea For Two
To celebrate Maggie's 2nd birthday, she and her birthday buddy, Kate, had a tea party. We had it at our house and just invited the little girls their age. We had brunch for the little girls and brunch for the mama's as well. Maggie had such a good time and was really cute about it being her birthday party.

Margaret Meyer
Seems like yesterday I was laboring in the middle of the night on Labor Day 2010. I remember when she was born, the nurse looked at our moms and Lee and said "oh how precious, she has red hair". I thought it must have been the warming light because I never in a million years would have thought that Lee and I could produce a red-head! But the nurse was right and now I have a spunky 2-year old with red, curly hair!
Maggie is such a joy! She restored my faith that babies and newborns can be enjoyable. Hehe. Just being honest, Kylie as you remember was not the easiest newborn to say the least. Maggie just went with the flow and was such a happy baby. I relished the time I got to spend rocking, holding and cuddling with her. I was never able to do that with Kylie when she was a itty baby b/c she was so colicky. Still to this day, she is a very happy little girl with a good temperment. She is a good eater, a good sleeper and plays well with others. She is extremely vocal and talks very well for her age. She can say difficult words and makes completely sentences. We have so much fun engaging her in conversations and asking her to say certain things. She is her daddy made over with the exception of her hair.
Below are a few things I want to note so I will remember about Maggie at 2:
Nicknames: Maggaroni, Mookie, Margaret, Sissy
Favorite Words: She says anything and everything and as I mentioned talks very well, but there are a few words and sayings that are truly hers. Juicy for juice, always says Good Morning when she 1st wakes up and walks to our room, always asks for us to hold her and sign Rock-A-Baby. She also sings this to her baby dolls as well as Ole MacDonald Had a Farm. Chomp-chomp means alligator, snakes means worms.
School: She is in Miss Mary Christie's 2 year old class at Leika's and goes one day a week to Mother's Day out. She likes school, but has had a little adjustment switching to Leika's from Mothers Day Out...probably b/c she is required to be quiet and still. =)
Foods: Candy!! She loves candy and asks for it all the time. Hot dogs, noodles, peas, chocolate milk, grapes, oranges, corn. She eats pretty much anything.
Toys: She loves baby dolls!! Kylie never paid much attention to dolls, so this has been funny to watch. She sings to them, feeds them and rocks them. SHe also loves blocks and crayons. She has drawn on the walls a few times :(
Weight: 30 lbs - 75th percentile
Height: 35 inches - 75th percentile
Happy 2nd Birthday Maggie!!
