Daddy's Day Beach Trip

Honey and Paw-Paw took us to the beach Father's Day weekend. It was so nice!!! I did not see any oil and did not even smell anything. The beach was beautiful. They still had red flags up so we could not get in the water, other than that everything was perfect. I really hope the hope the oil situation gets under control soon! Amanda, Jerry and the cousins were down as well and we all had a great time together. Kylie is quite fond of her cousins. Lee and I drove down late Thursday night. Friday was spent by the pool and we went to the Wharf that night for dinner and ice cream. Saturday, we got up and went down to the beach to play in the sand and then swam at the pool. I did some shopping that afternoon and then we all went to take the kiddos to play and eat at the Crab Trap. Sunday we stopped by the outlets to get Lee some shirts on the way out of town. I so wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks Honey and Paw-Paw for a great trip!
My not even 2-year old insisted on riding the ferris wheel, I was scared she would get on it and freak out, but she LOVED it!!!

MM Update

Back to the Doctor yesterday for a check up on Miss Maggie, I can not believe I am going to the Doc every 2 weeks now. Check up was pretty good except I did get a weight warning. ;) Since this is the last time I will be pregnant I have been taking advantage!! Other than that, the appointment was rather non-eventful. I got my RhoGam shot and we scheduled my next appointment for Wednesday, July 7th (Kylie's birthday!). We will do the 4-d ultrasound at that appointment. Kylie's 4-d pictures were not that great, so we are hoping Maggie's will be better. So far I am still measuring on track and the blood pressure is good. I have been very sore this time around and the Doc says that is due to such a fast labor last time which really stretched all of my insides giving me less support this time around. I am much more anxious this time around. With Kylie everything was scheduled, with Maggie there is a good chance I will go into labor on my own. I don't know why that scares me, but it does. I mean no one wants their water to break in the middle of Winn Dixie, you know what I am saying? =)

Kylie's new room is 95% complete. She has been sleeping in there for 2 weeks and it has been a rather difficult transition. We have had to lay down with her until she falls asleep and she has been waking up at night. She has only got out of the bed once and she did that when we were trying to let her just "cry it out". Hoping she will adjust soon. She is napping in there great, but I need her to go back to her sleeping schedule. I am tired and it is not very comfortable getting in a twin bed with her, but I refuse to let her in our bed.

Maggie's room is pretty bare. My friend, Sarah (more on her to come), is working on a painting for above the crib and we are getting some drawers refinished for her nursery. It is pretty bare in there, but we are hoping to make some progress since we will be at home on the weekends now pretty much until Maggie's arrival.

Time is flying by and we have lots going on the next few weekends. I have been busy working on Kylie's 2nd Birthday party which is coming up and we just returned from the Beach with Lee's family (beach trip post to come).

Memorial Day Beach Trip 2010

Our summer has already been in full swing with lots of pool trips, but we made summer official this weekend by heading to the beach for the 1st time. We had so much fun. Our friends, Mark and Sarah Kathryn, joined us Friday afternoon and spent Friday night. Kyle and Mary Grace, Kylie's Godparents, came down later Friday night and spent the rest of the weekend. We are so blessed to have such special friends that love Kylie and get just as excited about her doing something as Lee and I do. Thank y'all so much for everything!
Friday, Lee, Kylie, Mark, Sarah Kathryn and myself went to the Wharf to walk around and have an early dinner. We ate at Guy Harvey's Island Grill, it was good! Great place for Kylie too, she loved being able to walk around and look at all the boats. Kyle and Mary Grace arrived to the beach house just as we were getting back from dinner. We all visited and the hit the sack. Saturday, we all loaded up and headed to the beach. The guys played bocce ball while us girls laid out in the sun. Kylie was sleepy when we got to the beach so she took a 2-hour nap under the umbrella. I did not get to take any pictures down on the beach :(. There were no signs of oil yet, but lots of game wardens walking around looking. My grandparents house is in Ft. Morgan, so from the beach you can see where the Gulf of Mexico goes into Mobile Bay. There were a couple a big ships off shore a little ways laying out pipe in an effort to block the oil. We are really hoping the situation will be under control soon and we can still enjoy the beach this summer. Anyway- after a long day at the beach, Mark and Sarah Kathryn headed to Fairhope for a wedding and the rest of us went into town for dinner. The wait was so long at one restaurant, that we decided just to go back to the Wharf Saturday night too. At least if the wait is long over there, we can stroll Kylie around and keep her entertained. We ended up eating at Shuckers which is at the Wharf Marina. After dinner, we headed to do some shopping. Kyle and Mary Grace took Kylie to Build a Bear. She loved it!!! She picked out a Jaguar animal. The little clothes they had were so cute, but of course she wanted hers naked. So we walked out with Baby Jaguar and a pair of hot pink sunglasses which Kylie has worn more than Baby Jaguar. On Sunday, we pulled out the baby pool at the house and caught some rays by the bay. Todd (Mg and Kyle's dog) and Porter had a blast playing in the sand!!! And Todd loved the baby pool!! Sunday night we fried fish and cooked out the house. It was a great weekend with great friends and we cannot wait for the next trip.
