Christmas 2009

We had a great Christmas this year!! Last year was fun, but this year was so much more fun and exciting since Kylie was so excited. She slept till 8:30 (she is usually a late sleeper) so Lee and I both had time to get dressed and even cook breakfast before getting started Christmas morning which was really nice. After opening presents at our house we went to Demop to eat lunch with my fam. It was such a fun day. Kylie was so cute and we managed to get some great home videos this year, we have been awful at getting out that camera. Enjoy a few pics. Traditions

One thing I love about this time of year is all of our family holiday traditions. Every year my grandmother comes to my house to help me do some holiday baking for Lee's bank and our neighbors and friends. She came over last Saturday and we exceeded our baking record!!! We made over 300 pieces of candy and cookies. It was a long but fun day. Here are a few pictures of some of the goodies we made.

You Might Be A Redneck....

You might be a redneck if your daughter meets Rudolph and his nose is not red from glowing.......This picture was taken on my Dad's cell phone Friday night so it is a little hard to see. But yes, that is my little one and a half year old with a dead Rudolph. Ha! Kylie went to stay with my parents in Demopolis this weekend and when my dad brought this home she L.O.V.E.D it! Lee and I were at a Christmas party and I got this pic via text message from my Dad. Haha!

Christmas Galore

This weekend was very busy!! When I first moved to Selma, I will be honest - I thought my social life was going to go down the tubes. Well I was WRONG! This is the most social town, always something going on and I love it! In fact, we do more now than we ever did in Birmingham and Montgomery. This weekend has been a perfect example. Friday night, Lee and I went to the German Club dance at the SCC and it was a lot of fun. We have not been to anything black tie in a while and it was fun to dress up and kick off a month of holiday parties. Saturday was another busy day. After a morning trip to Wally World to get a few stocking stuffers, we made our way over to the Pearce's new home to watch Bama STOMP Florida. I do have to add ROLL TIDE. That was a great game. After the game, Ms. Frieda came to keep Kylie while Lee and I went to a Dirty Santa party at the Woodson's house. It was a lot of fun! We ended up with a bottle of tequila and margarita mix as our gifts. There were some really funny ones! Thank goodness we did not end up with the Barack Obama victory plate and Certificate of Authenticity...hilarious!! The holiday festivities still were going on today. This afternoon, Kylie, Lee's grandmother and I went to our Charity League's annual Gingerbread Wonderland fundraiser at the SCC. It was a lot of fun and Kylie loved being with all of the kids and eating tons of sweets. She obviously could not decorate the house, so I did what I could while holding a 1 and a half year old. All in all, a great Christmas weekend!! Out Takes

This weekend I attempted to get some pictures for our Christmas card. Key word here is ATTEMPTED. Looks like I am going to have to start browsing around at the cameras that have a super quick shutter speed. I managed to get a few good ones, and then ended up going a completely different direction for our card. Oh well- it was a good excuse to get some cute holiday photos.

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree

After we recovering from all of our Thanksgiving meals, we packed up and headed to Mr. Steven's tree farm outside of Selma to pick out this year's Christmas tree. I cannot tell you how much we all enjoy going to pick out a live tree and cutting it down. It really is fun!!! These do not shed and they make the house smell great. This is our 2nd year to visit the tree farm and we plan to do it every year going forward. This year, my Aunt Tina came over to go with us and help trim the tree. We had a good time. The house is still not 100% decorated but slowly and surely I am getting there.

Thanksgiving 2009

We had a really good, relaxing Thanksgiving holiday this year. Lee and I both had to work Wednesday and Friday, but we made the most out of our holiday off. Lee drove over to Demopolis after work Wednesday evening so he could get up early Thanksgiving Day to go hunting with my Dad. Kylie and I decided to wait and drive over Thursday morning. Poor thing is cutting her three other molars so nights have been a little rough this week. We got up and made the drive to Demop to meet everyone for an early lunch. We started off lunch with Bloody Mary's that were out of this world. So good! After finishing drinks and of course watching last year's Auburn vs Alabama game in preparation of the Iron Bowl on Friday, we ate a wonderful lunch. Kylie loved turkey and dressing and all of the fixings. After finishing up lunch with my Dad's family, we went over to see my other Grandparent's and visit with my Aunt Tina. Lee and the guys went hunting again Thursday afternoon and Kylie and I made our way back to Selma. It was a quick holiday this year! Happy Thanksgiving!
