Mini Monet

Do we have a little artist on our hands? I sure hope so! Kylie made us a few things at "school" and they are so cute. Of course we had to display them on the fridge.

Someone Got a New Toy

This weekend while Kylie was staying at Wen-Wen and Big K's, I managed to finally get the exersaucer put together that we got from our fabulous friends that hosted the Baby BBQ. Good thing Kylie was staying in Demop, b/c it took me 2 hours to get it put together. The instruction booklets for baby toys as well as the need for 100 batteries amaze me. We will be sure to have batteries and a screwdriver in-hand come Christmas time. Although we will not need these as much this year, I am sure Jerry and Amanda will!! haha. Anyway, we tried out the new toy when Kylie came home and she loves it. It is still a little big, but I just stuff blankets around her in the seat and it seems to work pretty good.

New PJs

Last night Kylie wore the Halloween PJs that Wen-Wen bought her. She suprisingly liked the little pumpkin hat and looked pretty darn cute.

The Butterfly Project

Not sure how many of you know this (I know I didn't), but Selma is actually the "butterfly capital" of Alabama. This year as a tribute to being the butterfly capital and in an effort to revitalize the community specifically the historic downtown district, many businesses partnered with local artists to create a butterfly statue that would be placed all around downtown. I have really enjoyed driving around and seeing all of the butterflies. They are really cool and very beautiful! Lee's bank has one, but I have not been able to get a picture of it. But theirs is black and gold and really pretty. It actually looks like a real butterfly. I will post pics of that one as soon as I can take a picture. Here are a few pics of the different butterflies around town.

Getting Ready for Halloween!

I must say Halloween is much more fun once you have a baby! This afternoon we took Kylie to the Pumpkin Patch at the Episcopal Church to pick out her very first pumpkin. We had fun picking out pumpkins and taking some pics of Kylie. I will be glad when we can say "smile" and she will know what we are talking about :). Hopefully this weekend we will have a nice carved pumpkin.

Kylie goes to Nursery

I am so glad that daycare is working out so well, she loves it! Here are a few pictures of us getting ready to leave this morning. Kylie used to smile when I take her picture now she just stares at the camera, as soon as I move the camera she is all smiles. haha. Hopefully I can get some smiles out of her on November 11th, because that is when we are having her 1st portraits made (I coudn't bring myself to take a colicky baby for newborn photos...trust me they would not have been pretty :)). I am also counting down to the day when we can ditch the pumpkin carseat and go to a big girl carseat. The pumpkin seat is so hard to get her in and out and did I mention that thing is heavvvyyy? Kylie has a pink Britax written on her list to Santa :)

Fun at the Fair

The fair is in Selma this week. Lee had to present a check to one of the pageant winners Tuesday night, so we ventured out to take Kylie to her 1st fair and watch Lee congratulate the high school ladies. I must say, I was impressed. There were lots of rides, a good crowd, yummy junk food, and a great animal exhibit (never thought I would see a camel in Selma!). Kylie really enjoyed being out and about in her stroller. Sorry these pictures are not that great, my camera is on its last leg and does not take pictures well at night.

(Thank you to Granite, Gruncle, Matt & Amy for the adorable Halloween dress! It looks so cute on her)

Happy 3 Months!

Sweet girl turned 3 months old on Tuesday. Kylie is such a sweet girl, always smiling and she has the softest little voice. Our colic days seem to be coming to an end and we are so thankful. Pretty much her only fussy time now is when she is sleepy and she still fights hard to stay awake or when she is hungry. She is doing pretty good at night, but we are still hoping that she will sleep through the night soon. She still seems to have quite the sensitive stomach and I am nervous about starting cereal next month. Kylie is growing like a little weed. Just since this past weekend, it feels like she has put on a pound and is definitely filling out now. Everyone at daycare lines up in the mornings when we drop her off to hold her and she loves it. She really loves Mrs. Julia at nursery and smiles as soon as she sees her.

Roly Poly

She did it! Kylie finally rolled over, from stomach to back. Monday night I heard her moving around in her bed so I clicked on the video monitor screen and she was laying on her back playing with her friends hanging from her mobile. I woke Lee up to tell him about the milestone. He didn't seem too impressed at that time. Haha. Yesterday I put her on her stomach on the floor and she did it again. So I guess I will put yesterday's date down in her baby book for rolling over.
While I was in Montgomery on Monday for work, Lee took the afternoon off to take Kylie to the doctor (he definitely got some brownie points for that, taking her to the doc is no fun). She has been congested due to the weather changing. No fever or ear infection, just congested. We do not go back to the doctor for a regular checkup until she is 4 months but she weighed 12 lbs on Monday. She is still long and skinny! She will be 3 months next week. The colic seems to be much better. She is still a little fussy, but that is usually because she is fighting sleep. This girl does not want to miss out on anything!
Kylie's Current Routine is as Follows
5:30-7:30am wake up, take 4 1/2 oz bottle and Prilosec
7:30am drop off at daycare
9:00am 4-5 oz bottle
9:30-12pm playtime with maybe a catnap or two
12-12:30pm 4-5 oz bottle
1:00pm pick up from daycare
1:30-3:30pm or 4 naptime
3:30-4pm 4-5 oz bottle and Prilosec
4-6:30pm go for a stroll, swing, play
6:30-7pm 4-5oz bottle
7:00 pm bathtime
7:30 bedtime
Sometime she will go with one middle of the night feeding and sometimes it is 2 feedings! We are definitely ready for more sleep at our house :) I am open to suggestions on how to get more sleep. I think as she gains more weight she will go a little longer, she is still below average for weight but the doc says it is nothing to worry about.
