Well well...today has been very eventful. I went to follow up with Dr. Miller this morning and my blood pressure was back normal. However, Dr. Miller felt it was best to go ahead and get a game plan together since my blood pressure is kind of back and forth and it is best to not take any risks. Since Kylie is full term she should be okay. So I am going back to see her in her Prattville office on Thursday and if the blood pressure is good I will be admitted to the hospital early Monday, July 7th to be induced!!!! If my blood pressure is a little high I will go ahead and be admitted Sunday night! Either way Kylie's birthday is going to be (or should be) July 7th!!!!!!!! I am very excited/nervous/anxious and so on and so on. I wish I could explain better all of the emotions going through my head right now. I have heard mixed reviews about being induced so I am a little nervous about that, but Dr. Miller assures me it will be fine. Everything is pretty much ready at home...my grandparents will be coming to stay with the dogs on Sunday night and the house is being cleaned this Thursday. The bags are all packed and we still have all of this week for any last minute preparations. ONLY ONE WEEK FROM TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!! Please keep us in your prayers!

Freaky Friday...
This morning I went in for my routine appointment with Dr. Miller. I am not dilated at all, but Kylie's head is "way" down according to Dr. Miller which is good (highly unlikely she will turn into a breech position at this point). My blood pressure was much higher than usual so she sent me across the street to the hospital for more monitoring and lab work. She said if the blood pressure does not go down and the lab results come back a little abnormal we could have a baby this weekend! I figured I would just be sent over to the hospital and monitored for a while, but she told me to call Lee just in case and go ahead and get him to come over with the hospital bag. So I went over to Baptist East and checked myself in and and then sat hooked up to the fetal monitor for the next 3 hours. Lee got to Montgomery mid-way through this so he was able to keep me company until the lab work came back. The labs all came back normal so I have now been ordered to strict bed rest. Only able to get up to use the restroom and take a shower. NO FUN.
Anyway after we left the hospital, we made a quick stop by my office so I could tell my boss about the situation and give him a quick rundown of my pending deals. He was super nice and supportive. It is hard for me to hand off things! haha. Plus I was really hoping to work right up until I go into labor (which very well could be tomorrow but I still think it will be another 2 weeks or so). I am still taking emails via my Treo, but other than that no work for me. I have not not had a job since December 2002 when I graduated college. I have worked solid since then, even when changing jobs I pretty much left on a Friday and started the new job on a Monday. Maternity leave is definitely going to be unfamiliar territory for me and I hope I do not pull my hair out before Kylie arrives. :) My next Dr.s' appointment was not supposed to be until July 7th, but they have bumped me up to come in again this coming Monday so they can monitor the blood pressure. We are getting very excited, but I am not getting my hopes up since it very well could be another 3 weeks before we meet our baby girl. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers!

Nursery Pictures!
I took some updated pictures of the nursery yesterday as well. I really like it! Lee's mom (Honey) and I met a girl this weekend in Tuscaloosa at Patiently Waiting and she told me she paints pictures for nurseries. I gave her a sample of my fabric that was used on the crib and the valances, and she is working on 4 different custom paintings for the walls and should have those done by 4th of July. Other than that, the nursery is complete. It is Dolly's favorite room in the house!
Still A Work In Progress!
I finally took some pictures of the house. We still have a ways to go, but I am very happy with the new floors and the new furniture. We still need lots of pictures and get curtains made. The walls take massive pictures since we have 10ft celings throughout (which I love)! All in all it is coming together! Whenever we get a full room complete I will post some more pics and I am also going to try to post some pics of the outside of the house this weekend.

She's shedding most of the downy hair that covered her body, as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath. Next week, your baby will be considered full-term. Most likely she's in a head-down position, but if she isn't, your practitioner may suggest scheduling an external cephalic version, where she'll try to turn your baby by manipulating her from the outside of your belly.

35 Week Dr.'s Appointment
Today I had my 35 week Dr.'s appointment. Everything is still tracking normally. My blood pressure is still good and Kylie's heart rate is still very strong and in the 140bpm range. I go back next week for the first pelvic exam and will continue seeing Dr. Miller once a week from this point on until Kylie is here!! It is amazing how fast things are happening. I once again expressed my concern about having a BIG baby to Dr. Miller so she measured and felt on my belly and estimated Kylie to weigh 6lbs right now and predicted her to be an 8 to 8 1/2lb baby if I make it the full 40 weeks. Yay! So I was thrilled that my chances of having a baby as big as Lee was when he was born are slim to none. Dr. Miller also told me that she wouldn't let me go but only a day or two past my due date if she was not here before July 19th. I can't believe we only have 4 weeks left at the most!
Yesterday my mom came and she helped me wash and sterilize the baby bottles as well as put away all of the baby feeding gadgets I had no clue what to do with. We also started sorting and washing Kylie's clothes. Tonight I will finish up my hospital bag and Kylie's diaper bag so they will be ready when we have to make the trip to Montgomery to Baptist East. Lee also managed to get the car seat bases installed yesterday. He really has done a super job getting everything put together for Kylie and helping with anything and everything around the house.

Your baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now that he's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew melon). Because it's so snug in your womb, he isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same. His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.

One Month to Go!
I swear the weeks keep getting longer and longer. I think it is because the lack of sleep I (we) have experienced over the past week. Lee informed me this morning he is going to have to move into the guest bedroom because he can't take it anymore. I don't blame him. All sense of feeling remotely comfortable has disappeared. I think Kylie has dropped some because instead of getting up once to go to the bathroom it is now more like 2 or 3 times a night. Fun! I know, I know your body is just preparing itself for when she arrives and all those middle of the night feedings?? I have heard this a thousand times, but it seems to me you should try to get as much sleep as possible before the baby comes.
We still have lots of last minute things to do before Kylie is here. We need to get the car seats installed in our vehicles, I am still working on the hospital bag (this has become a sore subject at our house, Lee is convinced I am not going to have things packed in time and he will be stuck packing for me), washing baby clothes & bottles, and there is still a lot of last minute shopping to be done. One of our biggest concerns is that we still do not have a plan for childcare once I go back to work. Our daycare in Selma will not take Kylie until she is 6 months old. So we are trying to find someone to come to our house to take care of the baby and some housework once I return to work. Please let me know if anyone knows if anybody in the Selma area. Everything else seems to be in pretty good order. We have made arrangements for my grandparents to come stay at our house when we head to the hospital to take care of the dogs while we are gone.
We are getting very excited! Hoping labor goes smoothly and Kylie is healthy.

Over Booked!
This weekend was quite busy! We had so many things happening, all of which we needed and wanted to go to! Lee's cousin, Abby, got married this past weekend in Atlanta. Congrats Abby and Jeb! I am so sorry we were not able to make it.
We were unable to attend because we were hosting a 50th wedding anniversary party for my grandparents (MomaBrown and PapaFred, which was a lot of fun! On Sunday, I was co-hosting a bridal shower for Julie Bryan in Birmingham. Given all of the traveling and back and forth, I was unable to attend Julie's shower due to extreme swelling. I was really bummed about not being there for Jules! Especially since it will be a miracle if I make it to her wedding next month...she is getting married a a week past my due date.
The 50th wedding anniversary party was a blast. We got to hear so many fun stories about my grandparents and about my dad and uncle. It was hilarious! We had the party at my Uncle Kevin and Aunt Debi's house around their pool. It was hot which I am sure is why I swelled so much. After the party we all took a dip in their pool which provided much relief!!!! Some of MomaBrown and PapaFred's friends from Montgomery made a scrapbook of old photos and trips they had taken together. It was great!

Birthing Class Graduates!
Last night we finished up our last birthing class. Three couples in our class had their babies at some point over the 5 weeks. Crazy! Lee had to diaper a baby doll in order to pass the class. He actually did a good job and really seemed like he knew what he was doing! Mrs. Mary Jane gave us the cutest baby Bible at the end of class, it is so sweet. All in all we really enjoyed the class. We learned alot and made some new friends. I will be dropping off our pre-admission forms to Baptist East this week...everything is definitely starting to sink in that we are about to be parents!
I also had a Dr.'s appointment this week. Everything looked good. My blood pressure was really good. I was extremely happy about that b/c I have experienced so much swelling in my legs, hands, and feet. But Dr. Miller assured me it is all just normal water retention and will go away after giving birth. I have had to put away my wedding rings because they no longer fit and any thought of wearing a cute pair of shoes is totally out of the question. Kylie's heart rate was in the 140s and she seems to be doing great in there. I am measuring a week ahead (instead of measuring 34weeks, I am measuring 35 weeks)...for those that know Lee's birth story, this has me very concerned. (Honey- maybe you should do a post on my blog about labor and delivery with Lee? :)) Lee was a big baby...big big baby. He weighed 10lbs 15oz...that's right he was a whopper. haha. So I have been very concerned about having a really big baby that will automatically warrant a c-section. I was only 6lbs even. So I am really hoping that Kylie will be in the "normal" 8lb range. I asked Dr. Miller if there is anyway to tell the weight of the baby and she said that beginning with my next visit she can usually feel the position of the baby and give a pretty decent estimate as to the weight of the baby. The next Dr.'s visit is June 18 and after that I will go ever week until Kylie arrives!

Dolly is Home!
Well since the floors are now finished, Dolly is back at home! I really missed her! Last night Lee managed to put together the swing (which like the bouncer seat also came with a 20-page instruction manual). I think the swing will be a big hit with Kylie, it was with Dolly anyway :)
Baby BBQ
This past Saturday some of our awesome friends hosted a Baby BBQ for Lee and I. We had such a good time! The party was held at the Barton's Farmhouse in Boligee, AL. Their house was beautiful, the food was great, and the company was wonderful. Here are some pics from the party and the after party :)

This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.) These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.

Renovation Complete!
Well the new floors are in, yipee! They look really good. The whole house looks and feels brand new. I am hoping to post some before and after pics later on this week. Last night Lee and I worked on getting the nursery and everything back together. He managed to put together Kylie's bouncer seat (it came with a 20-page instruction manual, no joke!). This week he will tackle the swing, hopefully it will be a little easier. haha.
