Busy Bees

I promise I am going to do better at blogging, we have just been so busy the past couple of weeks. I had a fantastic trip to New Orleans. Alot of work and even managed to get in some play. Lee did great with Kylie! Even dressed her in a cute outfit to go to school. Haha, we both crack up at how he dresses her sometimes. Anyway back to the trip, we stayed at the Loewswhich as always was wonderful. I have stayed at this hotel 3 or 4 times and highly recommend it. It is also the home of Cafe Adelaide which is wonderful. If you are familiar with dining in Nola then you know any restaurant that is a Brennan's restaurant (i.e. Commanders Palace) is superb! It was a great night out but I was glad to get home and see Kylie. I just love how she recognizes Lee and I now and grins ear to ear. It is adorable!

Back to the Big Easy

Well bright and early tomorrow, I am heading back down to New Orleans for a business trip and will not return until Friday morning. I have several properties under construction that I need to check up on and a new potential property we currently have under contract to purchase that I need to go take a look at with our contractor. I have not been back to New Orleans since I had Kylie so I am looking forward to the trip, but I am going to miss Kylie for sure! Lee and Miss Priss will get to spend some quality father/daughter time together while I am away. :)
Here are a few fun pics:

Feeding Frenzy

We are still doing good with baby food! Her stomach has been digesting the food pretty well, thank goodness. Hopefully this will keep up as we introduce some new things to her.

4 Months Old!

Kylie turned 4 months old on Friday! We celebrated with a trip to the doctor for a check-up. She did great at the doctor's office. I was shocked considering we had to wait an hour and a half before we saw the doc(we had an appointment but they were extremely backed up, note to self never make your child a doctor appointment on a Friday afternoon :). Kylie did great though, was even pretty good through the 4 shots she had to get. It is so amazing to see how much she has changed since birth.

Kylie at FOUR Months Old

Her FOUR Month Stats are:
Weight: 13lbs.15oz - 50th percentile
Height: 24 1/2" - 50th percentile
The doc said she looked wonderful and he was thrilled to see that the colic was gone!! He did confirm that she is indeed already teething. We had a hunch due to the fact that everything goes in her mouth and she is drooling more than Porter. Wen-Wen said I didn't start teething until pretty late, but Honey checked Lee's baby book and he cut his 1st tooth at 4 1/2 months. So I guess she gets this from her daddy. Dr. Hammad gave us the go ahead to start rice cereal as well as stage 1 yellow fruits and vegetables. He said given her sensitive stomach try her on the rice over the weekend and if she doesn't have any issues go ahead and introduce her to some baby food. Honey and I were going to Christmas Village in Bham on Saturday so that was the perfect opportunity for me to find these before the feeding begins:

Perfect timing. We only had a few small bibs and boy am I glad we bought so many b/c the 1st feeding looked like this:

She really did pretty good! I guess giving her all of those syringes with meds has helped her understand how to take a spoon a little better than most 4 month olds. And she did even better this morning! Yay, hopefully the rice and baby food will help us get her in a better sleep routine. We are still pretty sleep deprived.
All in all we had a wonderful weekend. While Honey and I were in Bham on Saturday, Lee kept Kylie. This was how he entertained her:

Apparently the Bumbo can be used for many, many things!
Today we went to church. This was my 1st time to put her in the church nursery and she did great. She was whooped when we got home and ended up passing out in the swing.

Long Time No Blog

I apologize, I have been a bit of a blog slacker lately. I guess I feel like if I do not have any pictures then the blog is not as good. Especially since everyone checks this to see Kylie anyway :). We have been very busy! This weekend Kylie and I went to Demop to spend the weekend with my mom. Friday night, we dressed Kylie up in her butterfly costume and took her to visit my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. It is so nice to have all of my family pretty much in the same town and only 45 minutes away. I am really enjoying being closer to everyone and it is nice that they can see Kylie so often since she is changing every week. Anyway, on Saturday Mom and I went to Tuscaloosa to do some shopping and Honey kept Kylie at her house. We had a great time spending the day together.

As for an update on Kylie, she is doing great!!! Really and truly a happy baby. Every week things have improved wonderfully. The doc told us a while back that by 4 months her stomach will mature and she will do much better. He is right! Now that she is feeling better she is eating really well and is happy! Thank goodness. She has been making noises for a long time now, but just last week she has REALLY discovered her voice. She will squeal and shriek for as long as her little voice will let her. It is funny. We have her 4 month appointment on Friday and I am curious to see how much she weighs. She was 12 pounds at 3 months, but now that she is feeling better it seems like she has put on alot of weight. She is still NOT sleeping through the night. I swear I do not think that will ever happen for us :). I am hoping cereal will go better this time around and hold her over through her 2 am feeding. How old were your babies when they slept through the night??? Please do not respond that you were one of the lucky ones that had a baby that slept through the night from day one. haha. You would be surprised how many people tell me stuff like that all the time. Not very encouraging. Kylie is still taking Prilosec but I do not stick to the twice a day routine as much anymore. She seems to be just fine when she doesn't take it in the mornings so the reflux seems to be subsiding as her stomach is finally adjusting. Lee and I are having so much fun with her and we cannot wait for things to come!!!
