Wonderful Weather

We have been loving this weather we have had lately. Kylie is enjoying being outside and so are we. This past weekend, something unusual happened...we were all three home on the weekend at the same time! It was great. Lee has been turkey hunting on the weekends so he is usually in and out, it was great having him home all weekend. On Friday night, Honey and Paw-Paw came over to keep Kylie so Lee and I could make a trip to Prattville and go out to dinner. We ate at the Fish Company restaurant inside Bass Pro Shop. It was really good and had a great atmosphere. It was very nice going to dinner with just the 2 of us. Then afterwards we made a Target run which is always fun and then headed back home. On Saturday, Lee, Kylie, Honey and I all went to Furman to the Weaver's camphouse to see Patrick and Austin and meet new baby, Park. He is adorable!! We also got to visit with Scott and Brooke who are expecting Baby Gracie in late August/early September. We ate lunch with them and had so much fun visiting and catching up. The Weaver's have 2 labs and a Maltese so Kylie was happy as can be looking at all of the dogs. She has a slight obsession with dogs. It is funny. We have to really watch her though because she has no fear of dogs and sometimes they look very fearful of her! haha. She doesn't understand when we say "be gentle" or "be easy"...that terminology does not seem to be registering at all. Here are a few random pics from the weekend:

Recovering...Finally!

Wow - it has been a long week. Lee went to Gadsden last weekend to visit one of his pledge brothers and Kylie and I stayed home all weekend. Well Friday night, she was extremely fussy and it was quite a long night. I was frustrated and exhausted. I could not figure out what was wrong, no fever...no nothing. Just fussy and refused to sleep. We eventually managed to make it through the night with a few hours sleep and Saturday morning she seemed fine and happy when she woke up. Then after breakfast, it started...the vomiting that is. This was her first time to ever have any sort of stomach virus and it was NOT pretty. She would throw up, play, poop and then repeat everything all over again. Not fun and especially not fun when I am at home by myself. Managing to clean her up, myself up, and the house was quite a challenge after one of her episodes. It was so sad (and gross)!
Saturday night, she seemed better. Slept good, no vomiting...everything was looking promising for a quick recovery. She was great all day and then Sunday night it hit again. Vomiting at 3 am! Ugh, so off I go to change the sheets and all of our clothes. Lee is home so he takes over so I can get some sleep since I have to leave for work in Montgomery by 7 am. Long night! Well shortly thereafter; I wake up sick. So Monday I was out of commission all day, it was awful. I have not been sick like that in a long time (thank goodness). Ms. Frieda was there with Kylie on Monday and I was quarantined to our bedroom. Tuesday everything appears to be back to normal and then we get a call from Ms. Frieda saying she is sick. So out goes the babysitter for the entire week. I have TWO HUGE (HUGE) closings this week so I could not miss another day of work. Very stressful. Lee agreed to stay home with Kylie yesterday so I could go to Montgomery. Well not long after I leave, I get a phone call and Lee is sick! He was sick all yesterday and is recovering today. Kylie seems fine, just has not quite got her normal appetite back. We are all exhausted. Today I am trying to juggle working from home and pretty much bleaching our entire house. Needless to say, I am sooo excited tomorrow is Friday. It has been a very long week. Hope to come up with something fun for us to do this weekend as we are all ready to get out of the house!

9 month check-up

On Tuesday, Kylie had her 9-month check up. She is healthy as a horse. She got her finger pricked so they could draw some blood and she never shed a tear. Just sat in my lap and watched the nurse with her pacifier in her mouth. She did get one shot, her last Hept B shot and she did cry a little with the shot but not too bad. She got a great report and seems to be right on schedule as far as developmental milestones. We did talk to the Ped about her sleeping. She still does NOT sleep though the night. I am not going to lie, that part has been hard on both Lee and I...especially with one us having to commute an hour to and from work! The doc said that some babies take longer than others on getting their sleep cycle adjusted. He assured us that she will sleep through the night but it will take time.
Here are her 9 month stats:
Weight: 21 lbs - 75th percentile
Height: 28 in - 75th percentile
Here are some things Kylie is doing now:
- Waving hello and bye-bye
- Saying da-da and dog - no momma for me :(
- Loves hearing people talk to her on the phone
- LOVES the dogs...always on the look-out for Dolly and Porter
- Pulling up all the time but no steps yet
- Waves bye-bye to me as soon as I drop her off at school (she loves nursery)
- Entertains herself forever as long as she has a handful of Gerber Puffs
- Pretty much eats anything...we are going to start some Stage 3 baby foods this weekend
- Hates getting her diaper changed
- Finally growing a little bit of hair in the back and has a little curl
- Only has her bottom 2 teeth
- Still not sure of her eye color...they are blue with a little brown

Easter 2009

Kylie had a great 1st Easter. We had lots of visitors over the weekend and even a visit from the Easter Bunny. On Saturday, Honey, Paw-Paw & Wen-Wen all came to Selma to spend the day with Kylie and eat supper that night. Kylie racked up from her grand-Easter bunnies! On Sunday, my mom stayed over with us and went to Church. It was great and Church was packed! Then after Church, we all rode to Camden to eat lunch with my grand-parents at the river house. We had a fun visit over there and are ready to go back. It was a fun, busy weekend and I have what must be a zillion pics! I did not get hardly any good ones of Kylie in her Easter dress. She was too excited over plastic eggs and grandparents. But her next portraits will be taken in our special dress so hopefully I will get some good ones then. Hope everyone had a good Easter. (oh- and as you can see in the pics, we ended up ditching the PBK Easter basket...one of my friends gave Kylie a basket on Friday and it is just PRECIOUS!)

Special Delivery

I am so excited!! Kylie's Easter dress and bonnet came in today! I love it. It is really pretty and I cannot wait to see it on Kylie. It will be a little big, but is going to look wonderful when I get her 1 year portraits taken. It is made by Pieces by Tam (they also made her Christening gown). I am so pleased and so relieved that it came in time! Here are some sneak peeks:

Thanks Honey! We LOVE it!

9 Months

My baby girl turned 9 months old today. We are officially now counting down till 1 year! Time has really flown by since she was about 5 months old which was around Christmas. Kylie is becoming her own little person and it is so fun to watch. She says da-da all the time and something that sounds like dog but that is about it. She is pulling up everywhere on everything! No steps yet though. And she can crawl really fast. She loves to swing and loves to go to school. As soon as I hand her over to Mrs. Julia at school she is waving bye-bye to me. Pretty funny.

In other happenings, we hired a full time nanny/housekeeper last month and it has been wonderful. Lee's mom has known Ms. Frieda for years and she has become an instant part of our family. Kylie LOVES her. This is really helping out with my work schedule and has been a huge help on the days when I leave early and get home late. It truly is an amazing feeling to come home to a happy baby, no laundry waiting to be washed, all of Lee's shirts hung and pressed, and the floors swept/mopped. I am sure there will be many posts to come on Ms. Frieda!

We are very much looking forward to Easter. Honey ordered Kylie a BEAUTIFUL dress and I have been waiting for it to arrive on our front doorstep. It was supposed to arrive today, but didn't. I am beginning to sweat a little bit, but surely it will be here tomorrow. We are still finalizing Easter plans, but are looking forward to Church services and visits with family.

Here are some 9 month photos of Kylie. The bunny was very fitting this month with the Easter holiday.
