Egg-xellent Egg Hunt

Last Sunday we headed to the Wendland's farm in Autaugaville for the annual CSUMC egg hunt. One of my most favorite things about our church is the children's ministry. We are blessed with so many children at our church and their worship leaders are amazing. Thank you Miss Daneen, Miss Dawn, Miss Teresa, and Miss Paula for everything you do for our little ones!
My crew had a blast at their 1st egg hunt of the year. Although Mags was present at this hunt last year, this is her 1st time to really be able to participate. And that little girl loves candy, so she was in heaven. She was also especially happy that she can now fit in her sister's old pink cowgirl boots! I am happy too -- we have lots of fights about one girl having something and the other one wanting the same thing. Even though they are 2 years apart, it is easiest to just buy 2 of everything. So the Easter Bunny doubled up on stuff this year. Oh and have I mentioned that Baby Sis is now wearing a bow??!?!?! This makes me so happy =)

Kylie bug had a great time. She gets so excited to her friends and that melts my heart. Her theory of egg hunting is to only pick up the colors she likes...pink and purple, maybe an occasional yellow.

Work Weeks

This my friends, is what you call one he$$ of a week :) Sorry for the terminology, but nothing else sums it up as well as the previous sentence! I am beginning to realize that my weeks are beginning to run together and more so than not, have the same ending as this past week, CRAZY! I started my week of here If you know me, you know that this city has a special place in my heart. In fact, if Lee would go along with it, I would actually consider moving there. I would love this exact house nestled right in the middle of the Garden District. Spending 6 years putting together housing after Katrina allowed me to see some many aspects of the Big Easy beyond Bourbon Street. This week was a quick trip, only spending Monday night for a meeting on Tuesday. We dined at Tommy's , which did not disappoint. After a quick meeting on Tuesday, I was back on the road to Montgomery. Time to get ready for the 2nd half of the week. I had a closing scheduled in Jackson, MS on Friday so I needed to get back to the office to prepare before traveling again on Thursday. This was my 1st trip to Jackson. Jackson is one of those places, like Selma that is a true Southern city. The movie the Help was based on the happenings in Jackson back in the day. And while in Jackson, I got to eat lunch at the Mayflower Cafe...one of the oldest restaurants in Jackson. It has been open since 1935, it is also where scenes from The Help were filmed. I learned that Jackson has quite a few jewels. We had dinner at The Parlor and it was fantastic! Quaint, fun and wonderful. The menu was pretty exotic as it featured mostly wild game. I would say this restaurant could hold its own with big city competition. So even though much of the week was a complete blur, it was nice to hit a few highlights.

Am I Back??!

Well, well since it has been almost a year since my last post I figured I need to re-join the blogging world if for nothing else to make me take some current photos of my children!!
So what's been happening since my last post, you ask?
Kylie (a/k/a Butterbean, Kylie bug, snuggle bug)is now 3.5 years old. Time has flown with her, she is such a little girl now and no longer a toddler. Her favorite things are going to Church, playing outside, coloring, and candy! Here she is after her 1st dove hunting adventure with her Daddy, it is safe to say she is an animal lover to. He didn't have the heart to tell her they were dead! Ha!
Maggie (a/k/a Moo, Bruiser, Mags) is now 17 months old. She is beginning to enter the toddler phase. She has mastered getting out of her bed, making a mess and climbing anything and everything. She is such a funny little thing and her red curly hair makes us giggle all the time.
Lee has been doing good also. We are starting to like each other again since hunting season is over, haha. So it is safe to say that I am dreading turkey season!! Here is a pic of Lee and Maggie from Easter last year.
As far as myself, I have been working ALOT lately. I had an amazing project close in November of last year in New Orleans. It is being put up for one of the top ten affordable housing projects in the country. It is fun to see something you have worked on for so long come to life. Here is a rendering of the final product. This is of course after a substantial renovation which will allow more Katrina evacuees to return back home.
Be back soon!

Six Months

Mags turned 6 months on March 6th. She is such a mess. This laid back babe is turning into quite the handful now. She is sitting up by herself and beginning to crawl and scoot everywhere. She is so smiley and still has not lost any of her RED hair! I love it. She is babbling all the time and says "Da-Da". I do not have any official stats but we had to go to the Doc last week (at which she was diagnosed with RSV) and she weighed a whooping 19 lbs!!!!! I checked back and Kylie only weighed 17lbs at 6 months.
Back to the RSV, we noticed Maggie coughing a little having a good bit of drainage. I took her to the Doc last Thursday fully expecting it to be teething (her first tooth just poked through) or an ear infection, and was surprised that she tested positive to RSV. So Kylie went to stay with my parents while we tried our best to console a fussy baby all the while trying to get her to drink Pedialite non-stop and giving her Albuterol (sp). Any who fast forward to today and she is doing much, much better. Still not 100% but better, I am so ready to have my HAPPY baby back!!! Below are Mags 6 months pics:
