Do Pobachennya!

That means good-bye in Ukraine!! Amanda and Jerry left Saturday morning for their adoption journey to the Ukraine. We are so excited for them and cannot wait until they meet their children. They had some rough traveling over the weekend (delays, cancellations, etc.) but should make their way to Kiev today in plenty of time for their appointment date tomorrow. Please continue to keep them in your prayers as they make this journey to meet their children.

Lee and I were able to go to Birmingham on Friday night to eat dinner with the whole family before Amanda and Jerry left on Saturday. We went to Carrabbas and had a great time. Afterwards, we went back to their house to visit and hear all the details about the trip...so exciting!! Lee and I got back to Montgomery around 12:45 Friday night and we had to be in Selma at 10 on Saturday to look at some houses. We looked at 6 different houses and found one we are really interested in...so we shall see. It is pretty much move-in ready, all we would need to do is paint and fix up the bathrooms. It has much more living space than our house now, so we would have to get some furniture, but that will come with time. I will keep you posted on whether or not we move forward.

In other news...I have my appointment with Mary Lou at Javis Davis today at 10 to design the baby bedding. Yay!! I will post some pics of the fabric and style once we pick everything out.

Sick as a Dog!

This week has been pretty miserable (aside from the good Dr. visit). I have been so sick all week and it does not seem to be letting up anytime soon. Last night since I was not feeling good and Lee was not at home, I decided to let Porter in to sleep with me. He is such a good bed buddy and I did not want to leave him out in the rain last night. Who knew that a dog that can look as scary as he can, would be so scared of thunder and lightning? He slept above my head most of the night. Haha. Anytime he would see lightning flash, he would want to crawl more and more on my head for some reason. Silly pup! Dolly, however, was not even remotely phased by what was going on. If anything she thought Porter was wanting to play when he moved around last night. It was a looong night...hopefully we will all sleep better tonight!

This is the face he would make whenever he would hear thunder or see a flash of lightning. SO funny!

Wiggle Worm

Finally I am feeling Kylie move around. I guess after worrying yesterday to Dr. Miller, Kylie has decided to start moving around to let me know she is there. I could feel her kicking a good bit last night while I was laying in bed and have felt her a little this morning while at work. So neat!!! It feels like someone is thumping me from the inside. The Dr. told Lee he should be able to see her moving around sometime in the next 4 weeks.

Did You Watch??

The season finale of Project Runway that is! I am obsessed.
22-year old Christian Siriano took home the prize. As he would say he is "FIERCE". I thought it was a great finale and while I am not into sewing or fashion design, the personalities on this show are so much fun. Christian was the youngest competitor out of all of the previous seasons of the show and this kid has talent.

20 Week Doctor's Visit

This morning I had my 20 week appointment with Dr. Miller. Lee was able to go with me today after all which was great. It is always nice to have him with me especially since I always work myself up beforehand thinking something is wrong. Today everything was great!!

First, we had the big 20 week ultrasound. During this ultrasound they check all the anatomy to make sure everything is developing properly and nothing seems to be forming abnormally. They also confirmed for Lee again that the baby is indeed a GIRL! I now have the green light to order the bedding, hehe. They also said that her heart looked great and they could see all 4 chambers. Her heart rate was 157 bpm. I told the ultrasound technician my worry of not feeling any movement yet and she assured me that is completely normal and many first time mothers do not experience any movement until 22 weeks. Kylie was moving around just fine though. We could see her yawning and that was so cute!!!! She also looked like she was trying to put her thumb in her mouth (Lee got mad at me b/c I was so proud that she may be a thumb sucker, hehe). She is measuring perfectly on track at 20w4d.

Then, after we finished the ultrasound, we went to meet with Dr. Miller. She is so nice. She explained the next few visits coming up and what to expect. I have have a pretty bad sinus infection right now so she gave me a prescription for a Z-Pack and Zrytec. Hopefully this will go away pretty soon. We also took my weight (no further comment) and checked my blood pressure which was fine.

We are so glad that today went well and Kylie looks like she will be a healthy baby girl. Our next appointment is April 2nd. Also...for you grandparents...we were able to get the ultrasound on video tape for you to watch.

20 Week Update from BabyCenter.com

How your baby's growing:Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. She's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom, and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, we use measurements taken from the top of the baby's head to her bottom — known as the "crown to rump" measurement. After that, we use measurements from head to toe. This is because a baby's legs are curled up against her torso during the first half of pregnancy and are very hard to measure.)

Halfway There!!!

Yikes! I just looked at my pregnancy ticker this morning and it hit me, we are halfway through the pregnancy!! Time has flown by. Amanda and Jerry (Lee's sis and bro-in-law) leave this coming weekend for their adoption journey to the Ukraine...how exciting!!! I cannot believe that by the time they get back Kylie will be almost ready to enter the world and I will have one, two, or three nieces or nephews! Needless to say, we cannot wait!

I go to the Dr. this Wednesday for the big 20 week ultrasound. Lee will not be able to go with me this week due to his work schedule. I am very excited to see Kylie again and of course make sure everything still looks normal and healthy. I have not felt her kick yet which has me a little worried, but I kept telling myself that maybe it is a sign of a very laid back, easygoing baby (I have been trying to also ignore the fact that one reason I probably have not felt her move is due to the extra cushion she has in my belly, hehe). Lee wants us to confirm one more time that Kylie is indeed a girl and then I can go ahead and order the bedding for the nursery. I will be sure to post some pics of that later on.
