One Month

Mags is one month old! She is doing great. She is staying awake much longer during the day and waking up once at night. She usually goes down about 9 and wakes up around 2 and then again at 6. Not too terrible. She LOVES to be held and Ms. Frieda (and I will admit I am guilty too) happily obliges. I have been hestitant to post this but she also has been doctor diagnosed as colic! I know, can you believe it? After everyone said the 2nd one will not be anything like the 1st...here I am again!! Her colic diagnosis is really just due to the fact the her digestive system is immature and she has a hard time digesting the formula. Maggie is not near as fussy and can be consoled, which we were never able to do with Kylie. We made the switch to Nutramigen last week and although it is not easy on our bank account...it appears to be easy on her stomach and she is doing much better =)

Central Alabama Fair 2010

On Monday night, Lee and I took Kylie to the Fair. The Fair is something I look forward to every year! I just knew Kylie was going to have so much fun and want to ride all of the rides like her Mama. Boy- was I wrong!!!!! She wanted nothing to do with the rides. Lee accompanied her on the carousel and all she did was cry while all the people watching pointed and kept saying "poor little girl". I was determined that she was riding something though. So we met up with some of our friends that have a little older children, I just knew that she would want to participate after watching them have so much fun. Once again -- WRONG. This time they actually stopped the ride in order to let her get down. Haha. She did LOVE the petting zoo part and that is where we spent most of our time. Well there, and at the fish for prizes booth. =)

Maggie Meyer

On a roll today, lots of new posts and pictures!! Today Maggie is ONE month old! Hard to believe. In many ways it seems like Maggie has been part of our family for forever and in a lot of ways it seems as though she was born yesterday. We go to the Doctor on the 12th for her one month check up. I am guessing she is well over 9.5lbs by now. She is really a sweetie and loves to be held. We had to start Nutramigen today due to stomach issues. I almost cried knowing how much $$$ we had to spend on that formula with Kylie, but if it works it will be money well spent. She has some of the same stomach issues that Kylie had as an infant, not near as severe though. It seems as if her little stomach has a hard time digesting the formula which causes her not to poop. She is fussy due to the stomach problems but is not a full blown colicky baby like Kylie. Maggie is pretty easy to soothe which is quite the opposite of Big Sister! Kylie has adjusted wonderfully to the Big Sis role and she is a pretty good help to me. She will bring me diapers, wipes, etc and likes to be the helper. Of course I would be lying if I did not say there have been a few temper tantrums over attention, but overall I think she is doing fantastic!!

What do Elephants Say???

According to Kylie, elephants say Rollll Tide! We have yet to make it to a football game this year =(. I am really hoping we can swing the Al vs Ole Miss game and take Kylie to some Homecoming festivities. But we have not missed out on all the football action, we have been having some fun football parties at our house. Mainly just us and the Atchison's since we both have newborns and toddlers. It is always a good time and Kylie has really enjoyed wearing her cheer outfits!

First Day of School 2010

Still playing catch up obviously! I am sure most of you have already seen these pics on FB. Kylie started Leika's, our church pre-school, this year and is in the 2 year old class. She started the week I came home from the hospital. The 1st week was tough, she kept saying "I want my baby sister" and was pretty whiny. Thank goodness that did not last long and she is now willing to go in the mornings. She is having so much fun and all of the school's activities so far are just precious! Lee graduated from Leika's kindergarten so when Kylie graduates, he will get to robe her. I must admit, I am a sucker for all the tradition stuff here in Selma. =)

Miss Margaret Meyer

Wow- am I behind or what??? The past couple of weeks have been a blur! We are enjoying Maggie so much and have been so busy that the blog has been neglected. Maggie was born on Monday, Labor Day, September 6th at 3:26 am. I went in on Sunday to get prepped for the induction and ended up going into labor Sunday night. I never even got the pitocin this time around =) It was another fast, smooth delivery! I only pushed 3 times with the nurse and only once with Dr. Waller. She was 8lbs 4oz and 20 inches long. She looks a lot like Lee! Right now she has a little strawberry blond hair and her eyebrows and eyelashes are so light!! I think she will eventually have the same coloring as Kylie. We are all doing great, just tired due to the newborn schedule. Kylie has been AWESOME!!!!!!! She adjusted very smoothly and is actually a huge help to me. I am enjoying my time off work and trying to get us all on a schedule before heading back October 18th. Here are a few pictures from Maggie's birth day:
