Belated Thanksgiving

Although Christmas is in FULL swing at our house, I could not forget to do my Thanksgiving post once I finally got my camera to work again. Ugh, that camera is going to be the death of me. hehe. Anyway, we had a great Thanksgiving and it was extra special this year since it was Kylie's first Thanksgiving. We spent the day in Demop with both my mom's parents and siblings and my dad's parents and brother. We hated we missed the Calame Thanksgiving at Amanda's!! Since Lee and I both had to work on Wednesday and Friday, it would have been too much driving to be in both places. Anyway a little about how our day started out although it may be too much info, I think it is funny. I had a super cute, nice outfit picked out for Kylie to wear Thanksgiving. It was her 1st time to meet some of my aunts and uncles and given that there was going to be lots of picture taking I wanted her to look super cute. Kylie spent the night with Wen-Wen the Wednesday before Thanksgiving b/c Lee and I had to work and daycare was closed. Well when we got to Demop on Thursday morning Kylie was super happy but my mom said she had not gone to the bathroom (#2 for Lee's friends who like to call Lee and when he says he is changing a diaper, they ask "#1 or #2?" haha). I knew from our horrid newborn days that when she doesn't go, even if it is only for one day, it is no fun for any one. So I figured before she got really upset we should stop by Wal-Mart and pick up some prunes for her before heading to my grandparents. That way she would do her business and be a perfect little angel at Thanksgiving dinner. We pull in Wal-Mart parking lot and just as I am unfastening my seat belt we hear a loud noise come from the backseat. Lee and I look at each other and realize the trip to Wal-Mart is now unnecessary. And it indeed it was...my backseat proved it. After 30 minutes of cleaning, a least 20 wipes, a couple of sympathy stares, and of course changing out of the outfit of choice :( we finally make our way to my grandmothers for Thanksgiving dinner. And guess what??? She was a perfect little angel! haha.

COTR 2008

This weekend was a blast. Lee had a guys weekend planned with his college buddies in Boligee @ the Barton's camphouse, so we all packed up and headed to Demopolis (Boligee is right outside of Demop so Lee dropped me off). It was Christmas on the River weekend in Demop which is always so much fun. Before the boys headed to the camp Friday night, Lee and Kyle came to the COTR BBQ cook-off. It was fun and as always great to see so many friends from home that I do not get see often. We were in a great tent with food and drinks and even better, a small band and most importantly heaters!! After the cook-off the boys dropped me off at my parents and they headed on to Boligee. Saturday, Mary Grace came to Demop and we went to Art in the Park and the COTR day parade. We wanted to take Kylie, but it was too cold so I left her with my grandparents. Anyway, I picked up a few Christmas presents and as always enjoyed the parade. After the parade, MG and I headed to Tuscaloosa to meet up with friends and watch the Bama game at Gallettes. I had sooo much fun with the gals and can't wait until our next get together! Kylie stayed in Demop and spent the night with Wen-Wen and Papa K. Sunday morning, Lee picked me up from MG and Kyle's house and we came back home to do more decorating!

Poster Child

I know I mentioned a post or two back that I had Kylie's 1st portraits taken a couple of weeks ago. She did fantastic, in fact it was hard to get shots of her not smiling. This is what we are giving everyone in the fam for Christmas. I went to Fleming's website and look who appeared. Can't wait for all of the pictures to come in, click on the link below to see one of her shots used for their web advertisement.

O' Christmas Tree, O' Christmas Tree

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Lots of food and fun! I will have to do a belated Thanksgiving post, b/c all of my pictures from Thursday are on another camera. This weekend we officially kicked off Christmas at our house. After church on Sunday we went with The Atchisons to get a Christmas tree from the Christmas tree farm. I have not had a real tree in so long and forgot how much fun it is going and picking out a tree and chopping it down. We will be doing this every year from this point on, we had a blast! Tommy and Kaley did too, Kaley is a trooper she is due in 2 weeks with Thomas Clay and she walked the whole farm in search of their tree. Here are some pics from the weekend.
On the way to church

So sleepy after playing in the church nursery (please notice the cuddle coat which I mentioned wanting when I pregnant, my mom found it and it is adorable!!)

Up from our nap and ready to go get a Christmas Tree

Busy Bees

I promise I am going to do better at blogging, we have just been so busy the past couple of weeks. I had a fantastic trip to New Orleans. Alot of work and even managed to get in some play. Lee did great with Kylie! Even dressed her in a cute outfit to go to school. Haha, we both crack up at how he dresses her sometimes. Anyway back to the trip, we stayed at the Loewswhich as always was wonderful. I have stayed at this hotel 3 or 4 times and highly recommend it. It is also the home of Cafe Adelaide which is wonderful. If you are familiar with dining in Nola then you know any restaurant that is a Brennan's restaurant (i.e. Commanders Palace) is superb! It was a great night out but I was glad to get home and see Kylie. I just love how she recognizes Lee and I now and grins ear to ear. It is adorable!

Back to the Big Easy

Well bright and early tomorrow, I am heading back down to New Orleans for a business trip and will not return until Friday morning. I have several properties under construction that I need to check up on and a new potential property we currently have under contract to purchase that I need to go take a look at with our contractor. I have not been back to New Orleans since I had Kylie so I am looking forward to the trip, but I am going to miss Kylie for sure! Lee and Miss Priss will get to spend some quality father/daughter time together while I am away. :)
Here are a few fun pics:

Feeding Frenzy

We are still doing good with baby food! Her stomach has been digesting the food pretty well, thank goodness. Hopefully this will keep up as we introduce some new things to her.
