Everything's Bigger in Texas

This weekend I am headed here:
I am so excited. My aunt and uncle live in San Antonio and this weekend I am taking a quick trip to go visit. I had a free flight voucher from Delta that was about to expire so I decided this would be a perfect opportunity to visit. I have been to San Antonio but it was 8 years ago so I am looking forward to going back! This place will be calling my name for lunch on Saturday:
I love the Riverwalk there! Can't wait for Tex Mex and an aunthentic margarita on Saturday! In other traveling news, I am also thrilled that Lee and I are heading here on Labor Day weekend:
Our main reason for going???? The Alabama vs Michigan game which will be in Cowboy Stadium!
Can.not.wait! We are staying the weekend in downtown Dallas with friends. Should be a blast. To celebrate, I asked Lee for (happy birthday to me) this new game day scarf!

4th of July 2012

July the 4th is so much fun in Selma!!! We never want to go out of town on the 4th because of all the fun happenings here! The SCC has an annual pool party that is a blast. From father/child pool relays, to penny dives, beer dives, splash contests, etc -- it is always entertaining! The girls have so much fun seeing friends and eating their weight in ice cream.
Ready for the pool -- I swear I must have coated her in sunscreen at least 100+ times. My poor red-headed baby, she still got a little burned. (PS -- if anyone has any sunscreen recommendations, please comment. We have tried everything!)
Foggy camera
Sam managed to walk away with the greased watermelon.
The little kids were thrilled that he decided to share!
Maggie loved the ice from the grown-up cooler. She kept everyone hydrated all day =)
Love those curls!
Lee came away with 15 tokens in the beer dive, which means 15 free beers. He was a little down from his total of 22 last year, but we were thrilled when he realized there is a not a rule that says you have to drink all of them in one day. Evidently someone told him that was a rule last year!!!
Lee was also the defending champion of the biggest splash contest. He was thrilled to take home that title again for at least another year.
All in all, it was a great day!! And we are already looking forward to this holiday next year.

Kylie's 4th Birthday

We had Kylie's 4th birthday party the last weekend in June. Kylie and her friend Libby are exactly one year apart. These girls love each other so it made sense (and made it easier) to have one big birthday bash for the both of them. They both are very into Ariel and all things girly so an Under the Sea party was perfect for them. Libby's mom, Beth, was so generous to offer her home for the party. This was great because nothing is worse than a July birthday party OUTSIDE! I think everyone had a great time and Kylie and Libby were so surprised when the real Ariel arrived at the party! She even brought a pirate friend along for the boys. Below are a few pictures.
Can't believe she is now 4!!!

Father's Day 2012

Goodness, I am behind. Story of my life. I guess I will pick up with Father's Day. On Father's Day this year, we headed to Ellis Island in Camden, AL to spend the day with my grandparents. My grandfather's birthday always falls on Father's Day weekend so it is a great time for us all to get together. My family has always been really big on fishing. I have gone fishing my whole life. I still enjoy it to this day, but never get to go. My grandparents and Lee have really taught the girls how to fish. Kylie loves it.
(the fishing camp in Camden)
This was perfect for Father's Day for Lee. Lee, being a father to 2 girls, always seems to have an extra smile on his face when he see the girls enjoying the outdoors!
(our favorite pose these days...silly faces)

Mobile Uploads

So I have had some major issues with blogger lately! Goodness, hopefully we are back up and running now. Things have been so crazy this summer, I figure it will be easiest to summarize our little happenings with cell phone pictures. This summer is starting to get hot so we have spent many days by the pool.
We have also filled the hot days by playing inside! Miss M always into dress-up
Kylie hoola-hooping
We have even busted out the old-school games!
Big Sis got treated to her 1st ever mani and pedi
I have actually been getting in the kitchen some!! So UNLIKE me! Really enjoying all the veggies from my parents and grandparents gardens. Cucumber salad has been wonderful this summer!
Been taking lots of afternoon rides to the camp in Orrville to look for alligators, rabbits, deer, etc. My girlies are so into it! We get Icee's for the road and head out. Miss Priss says she must always wear jeans with a shirt tucked in and a hat to the camp. Needless to say, her daddy is eating this up!
On Father's Day, Kylie insisted on taking Daddy shopping. He was so thrilled, haha! She did at least take him to Bass Pro.

Obsessed

There are a few things that I am currently obsessed with, so much so I figured I would blog about them. And have I mentioned my birthday is right around the corner???! Friends, feel free to hint tell Lee about the following things I am currently obsessed with and really want to own! This La Mer Odyssey wrap watch has been on my mind for a while. Love everything about it: style, color, etc. My next obsession is out of control: Kendra Scott Jewelry!!!! Really, really wanting to start a collection. These are the Allison earrings found on Zappos.com The Jordana bangles in Mother of Pearl -- these top the list! BB Creams - anyone tried these? This Smashbox one sounds amazing. Hobo Wallets! An oldie but a goodie. My mother-in-law gave me my 1st Hobo several years ago, These wallets last forever, I am on my 2nd. The below is the Rachel wallet and I am in love with the vintage leather pattern. Hopefully, I can sport some of these items VERY soon :)

Around the World in 80 days...

That heading pretty much sums it up. I have been on the move. Little Rock, Atlanta, Dallas, Tulsa...I have been on the GO! And no, I am not seeing any signs of slowing down until the end of the year. If I were on Twitter, I guess I would have added this after last sentence, #thankfulforabusyjob. I will probably be on the road overnight at least once a month from here till the end of the year, at a minimum. Traveling is so hard with little ones, but thankfully I am only gone overnight and Lee handles things like a champ while I am away. As long as I am only away overnight and come back equipped with some sort of prize, candy, etc all has been good on the homefront. This is a pic of one of my new projects. It is a historic renovation project, which will be a 1st for me. Just more rules :) It is an old hotel conversion in Little Rock and has amazing potential. It will be fun to see this one come to life the end of this year. In other work news, I am also starting to put together a new deal in Tulsa and a few more in my "home" state (as my boss calls it), Louisiana. I swear I really like the Cajun life! Haha! I am closing a deal down there next week and am so looking forward to this closing b/c Lee is going to join me and my fun work gang! Should make for an interesting post if nothing else :). On the homefront, Kylie got a new hair-do and it is PRECIOUS. After she got her haircut, I took her to the bank to show her Daddy. Lee said it was like time slapped him in the face. Ha! He could not believe how much older she looked. Mags is changing so much as well. Hard to believe that by the end of this summer she will be a 2-year old. I think we will see a lot of changes in her before school starts. She LOVES her sissy and her daddy. She is definitely a daddy's girl. And did I mention she loves cupcakes???!?! We are trying to enjoy summer as much as we can in between work trips, school camps, VBS, etc. Hoping we can take a quick trip again before school starts in the fall.
